Goa : An Unforgettable Experience !!

It was March 1 2013, when I made my first ever trip to Goa and I was in my final year of engineering .All most all of my friends already made several visit to Goa and every time they use to return, they use to go gaga about this place.

So finally I got a chance to travel to Goa .The trip was no where in my radar, but it happened and I  was very excited. We all booked our tickets a day before, we got confirm reservation , so getting a urgent reservation for Goa is not at  all a problem.

The fun begins in journey itself moving from a city of multi-storey buildings and humidity to land of mountains and fresh air .As I came closer to Goa, I felt in the change in temperature and trust me it was pleasant.

We got down at at Tivim railway Station in the afternoon. We Had to go Calangute that is in North Goa.We all took a bus .There are lots of bus that you can get outside  railway station .There were Cabs and autos also, but as they were expensive so we preferred bus.

Bus service was good, without any problem we reached Calangute, as it was a long stay, we headed to book hotel for our stay. I was surprised to see the rates .It was 1000 per day for air conditioned room and as less as 400 per day for non-ac rooms. We knew that Sunburn was over and it won’t be expensive in March but it would be this cheap, we never expected that .So we kept our luggage, we quickly went out to explore. We went to Baga beach first, it was already evening .

The atmosphere was awesome .And the feeling of  fun in Goa started sinking in.Baga Beach is one most popular beaches, also a popular attraction for Bollywood film making. It has lots of restaurants along it, that are beautiful and not expensive .They also has little sheds in front of the restaurants that looks great in the night .They all provide wide variety of food at decent price. And as we all know Goa is famous for its liquor rate. It is almost one third the rate as compared to Mumbai. The atmosphere is great as music is all around with endless sea in front of you, chilling breeze, its simply awesome.

Next day, we all went to hire our bikes. The bike renting process is very easy and very much offordable. They only keep one of ur Address proof that’s all .The rates for bike for one day is 300-400 and for activa is 250 per day. And the most fascinating thing is the petrol rates in goa. That time the petrol rate in Mumbai were 70-75 per litre and in Goa, it was 50 per litre. So that helped our budget too.We all filled our tanks full and headed for our road trip.

Goa has almost no traffic, with no signals literally no sigmals at all. It was a beautiful experience,  even riding a bike could be  fun . So we headed to Anjuna beach . One of the most popular beach among foreigners in Goa, night parties, Curlies and other good eating joints, peaceful beach, western seafood with chilled beer and good music in nearby restaurants and flea markets. Foreigners all around chilling, playing volleyball, sunbathing, it was great. We all simply sat down to enjoyed the nature’s beauty. After that we went to Curlies, very famous restaurant for food and obviously liquor. In the evening we returned back to Calangute.

In the night, we went to the most popular café called Mambos at baga beach, that is in Calangute. The moment I entered I got the reason why it so popular. The atmosphere was electrifying. They mostly play trance music, we danced all night .To see People from all over the world dancing on the same floor, was an great experience for me.Cafe is bite expensive but is world class .The night was fun.

Next morning we headed to see some churches. There are hundreds of them, and every one of them a masterpiece .After that we headed to Vagator Beach.  Quiet and calm beach, one of the most beautiful beaches of Goa, beautifully set amidst the cliffs, soft and white sand, perfect for relaxing, vast stretches of coconut trees and nearby Chapora fort. We all jumped into the water as the water was pure as it can get. What a relaxing and fun experience it was .

In the night we went to club Cubana. It is a, must must visit place to go. Unlimited liquor, electrifying music, great food, pool, I mean it had everything that will make your night go crazy. It is situated on a hill top, its lights are visible from kilometres .Dancing then drinking, jumping into pool, then dancing, the cycle went on and on and on …it was a unforgettable night.

Next morning was Morjim Beach. One of most secluded beaches in North Goa, great place to spot Olive Ridley Turtles, hillocks, good food, a lot of Russian immigrants as Morjim is also known as mini-Russia, considered to be one of the best 10 beaches in Goa.We heard about its pure blue water .There are shacks made along the beach to relax, white sand .Great place to just chill.

Next in the after noon we went to famous fort of Aguada  .It stand on the endless sea.If u stand on top, and see around you will be mesmerized by the natures beauty. Then we went to Vasco Da Gama Fort and see huge ships all around. It is a good place to shop. You can get hats, glasses casual clothes at a very decent price. On the way back, we saw Casino Rayale that is in a huge ship .It is expensive so we didn’t go inside, but given a chance I would have definitely go.

Overall there are so many places that you can visit, and you will never get tired of it.For me it is different world all together.I stayed there for 1 week, but its hangover stayed with me for at least 1 month. So if you just want to have fun there is absolutely no other place than Goa.
