Must be wondering that Aahana has gone nuts. What is Aahana talking about?
Im talking about Mr. Gobind Jaiswal. You don’t know him coz he is attached with a not so glamorous sport named TAEKWONDO (TKD).
Born on the 15th of March 1968 this man hails from a village near Ayodhya.
And was brought up in Calcutta. Gobind sir has been attached with TKD for the past 25 years.
1.He started teaching TKD since 1988.
2.Produced more than 100 black belts
3.Produced 25 national referees
- Produced 20 state level referees.
5.General Secretary of Bengal Taekwondo Association (BTA) since 1998.
Executive member of Taekwondo Federation of India(TFI),
Passed 4 Dan black belt test in 1998(One of the few 4dans we have in India).
8.Became TKD International Instructor in 2004(The only one we have in India).
9.Received special reward by World Taekwondo Federation(WTF) in 2003 for dedicating his life for TKD and outstanding work for stretching TKD in Bengal.
10.Made national and international Medalists(Both male and female).
11.International Gold medalist at Darjeeeling, 2005.
- 1st World United TKD champion.
These are just few of the Work done and recognition got by Gobind sir .
Who is Gobind sir? ? He is my PAPPA. Is that Possible for a 38 year old bachelor to have a 20 year old daughter? Yeah….. it is.
He is my TKD coach, my instructor, My pappa.
He is a man of Honour and Dignity .His unique way of teaching is awesome.
Sir teaches us to be punctual, disciplined and dignified… the way he is. He punishes us when we go late to club. What punishment? 100 push ups. Now that’s painful. If some student doesn’t come on Sunday(that’s when we have fights and students don’t turn up as it’s a Sunday and uske upar a morning session), then they are not allowed to come on Tuesday. Punishment is for all, be it a Black belt or white belt. he actually threw out his favorite student( a black belt) as his fees was not cleared and that fellow had to take re-admission! He doesnt diffrenciate btween a gal and a guy.If a guy has to do 100 sit ups, same goes with the gals(Only 2 gals)Whenever we think about it dil se, we know that its for our own betterment.
There is not a single person who doesn’t like Sir.U know, in TKD, we bow(a sign of respect) to our seniors. Sometimes we have to bow coz of rule and bowing doesn’t come dil se. But when its comes to Sir, Respect comes from within.We all r just crazy about him. SO much so that a black belt form a different club actually keeps Sir’s Picture in his Wallet!!!!!!!
Gobind Sir, is a very tough guy. When he teaches TKD Dil Se, he become like an animal.Oh My god, we get so scared then.His facial expressions are frightening.
But when the class gets over……. He is back to normal.
Jitna upar se sakt hai, utna hi andar se narm.He doesn’t shout .. but still has got the power to give complex to a roaring lion.He has got that tag around him which says……”HEY PEOPLE, DON’T MESS WITH ME”.You know wat is the synonym of Strong? its GOBIND JAISWAL! He has got tremendous will power.Karna hai... to karna hai! No 1 can stop him.
Anyone can teach TKD, but No one will teach you to be a better human being. Disciplined by nature, he teaches us the basic facts of life.Dont hurt anyone, don’t play with anyone’s emotions…… are some of his teachings.When sir talks, we just get carried away. He says exactly what our heart tells us.
We get a good treatment from players from other states as we are referred to as “Gobind sirs’ students”. We bear his name on ur shoulders.
“O !, so u r Gobind Sirs student. Then toh tumhare liye Gold medal pakka rakha hai.” .
That’s what other players tell our club members.Coz we r different from other players. Be it our attitude or our fighting Techniques.
Coming to sir and my relationship… He is my Godfather. I normally don’t call him Sir. I call him Pappa.He is my non-biological father. And u know how he introduces me to others??...”Yeh Anna hai , meri beti”. Yeahh…… pyaar se he calls me Anna.He says ….student or beti me fark hai. So, Im special to him. Pappa is gods gift to me. Whenever I look at my palm, I always stare at them and wonder which tiny cute little criss-cross line made me so lucky to meet him.
Pappa has helped me be a better human being. Always teaches me the values of life.Now that has helped my mom. Pucho kyu! Even She wants me to be even more better. She threatens me…..”lauki, parwal, pattagobhi kha lo, nahi toh pappa se keh dungi”. Whenever Im upto some mischief, she says ”Pappa ke bole debo”. And like a gud bachcha, I have to listen to her. She knows my weakness. And that’s Pappa.Thats what I call TAKING UNDUE ADVANTAGE.
Talking to Pappa is like a daily routine …like eating, sleeping, drinking. Bhala saans lena koi kaise bhul sakta hai! Being Gobind Sirs daughter dusnt mean I get freedom. Even I have to reach club on time, and if I make any mistake during classes, tab maar bhi khana padhta hai.. Class me its teacher-student relationship.We both share the same feelings and emotions.we talk the same n feel the same.say for example....i am thinkg abt him and wished a sms from him..... BINGO! there beeps my cell.Telepathy ....man!!!Pappa says...Im the Diary of his life.
O god, I love him so much. I sometimes wonder….. how will I live without him?
Just cant think abt the consequences! Rather don’t want to.
I guess this is my longest review till date.
