Godavari is very important river for the people in Andhra Pradesh, and it has formed two very rich districts of TUGO(Turpu meaning east) Godavari and PAGO(West Godavari). Godavari is not just a river but is the lifeline to many districts in AP.
People living around this river know the importance of Godavari, and more so because Godavari, the largest river in South India, brings more waters than does Krishna, which has more dams built across it in other states. So, for me a resident of Bhadrachalam, a cinema called Godavari would naturally attract.
But as things would go, my exam was during the time of the release of the movie, and I did not see it at that time. So I saw it very recently. The reason for the late review.
One thing that people should keep in mind is that they should not try to find Anand, in this movie.
I was thinking that "Godavari" would be the protagonists name, and also thinking that this time Godavari would also be a male, like Laxmi and Gowri were! but although Godavari was to some extent an important character the protagonist was a self loving and alluringly beautiful, Queen Victoria, Sita Mahalaxmi.
Sita Mahalaxmi is the kind of a character that would attract not just girls of that age but all self loving people. Her character is so self loving and arrogant that its appreciation does not end. She does not want to get married, but cannot digest that a prospective Groom disliking her.
She wants to work on one side but does think on the other side as well.
Sita stays in thoughts so much always, that the Director has to make the actress bite her nails too often. I dont know if the actress does not have the habit, it would have been quite an effort to do that, or if she had just quit it recently, then she would have found herself in a dilemma.
On the other end is an US returned Mechanical Engineer, Ram. Sri Ram, who is in love with his own sister- in -law(as they prefer to call the cousin from opposite sexed parents siblings), in south Indian States. The girl is of so confused mind and in jeopardy, that she can change her mind about marriage just like she can change, her preference of laddu and Jangri(jeelebi) while having food served.
Why the mechanical engineer Ram, wants to serve the public through the gentlemans last resort for earning is not clear.?. anyway his tendency to help attract few, and Sita is one of that kind.
The Dogs role is very great, but how a dog of Rajahmundry speaks Telangana language is something unclear, but it is a good innovation. The most loving part is the conversation between the country dog and the black dog, who is tied.
I was awaiting to see Bhadrachalam in the sets as Bhadrachalam is discussed too many times, but there are very few shots of that.
The journey for 3 days I dont know the facts whether it is really provided, as far as I know it takes a days journey from Rajahmundry to Kunavaram(Unlike in the movie, Launch does not reach Bhadrachalam town now, in normal conditions). although Sitas journey can be reasoned out.
its not clear why the marriage party prefers a boring, 3 day journey in 2005-06 when the journey by road hardly takes 6-7 hours.
Sita falls in love with Ram, but she has a hindrance in the form of Rajeshwari(Raji). Ram is too much infatuated to her, so she cannot propose him. Nor can she express her love as she does not know what she will get in return. In such a situation she takes a bold decision of leaving him alone and coming back home by bus, leaving the eventful Godavari.
She allows time to tackle the rest , what happens next? is to be seen in the movie.
Kamalinee is more a girl in this movie, unlike in Anand where she seems to be a lady.
