I purchased 165lit Godrej refrigerator in Oct 2009 in exchange to my 10 year old refrigerator. While I was contemplating to buy one my friends and relatives warned me of the poor service of the company. But being a loyal customer I still went ahead and bought one. Although even after installation the fridge was showing problems, after a few calls the technicians used to set it right. On 6th June, 2010 the fridge stopped functioning. Since it was Sunday, I called them the next day. I was given a standard reply that the complaint was registered and the technician will visit my place. Even after 48 hrs there was no sight of the technician and I persistently called up the customer care to get the same reply that the technician has been entrusted my job card and he will attend to it. After 3 days the technician made his appearance on 9th evening and detected there was a gas leak and will be set right the next day.
There was no sight of the techinican and I again called the customer care who gave me the same reply. On my request, I was connected to the manger who also gave me the standard reply "The technician will come and set it right". The situation continued for the next three days and by then one week had passed without my complaint not attended to. Having no other alternative, I sent a email to the National service head explaining my helplessness and the callousness of the Bangalore service centre and immediatley within two hours a technician came to my place and filled gas in the compressor and put the fridge back in action. This is the disservice rendered by a company of repute of Godrej and a developed place like Bangalore and that too within the gurantee period.
Buyers who are contemplating to buy godrej better think twice. Although their products the service support is horrible. Moreover, none of the managerial staff are available over phone and their website also do not provide any contact nos or email ids. But in their website they claim of 24x7 service.
