I have recently purchased Godrej Split AC 1.0 Ton Model 12FP3 through Snehanjali outlet. I got for Rs.17000 with freebies (ie.gifts for Rs.500) Mixer, Juicer and a Reebok watch worth Rs.3500. This is rated three stars. Energy consumption is 1294 W. What I liked with this AC is that it is silent and effective. It has got great features like memory function ie. it remembers your last setting even in case total power failure. It has Auto, Cool, Dry, Fan and Sleep modes.
Auto: It automatically selects temperature setting depending on room temperature
Cool: Quick cooling at the set temperature
Dry: Depending on humidity it sets the temperature (not manually possible). Good during rainy season.
Fan: Only fan mode. Compressor sleeps. Good in winter.
Sleep: Power saving mode. It increases one degree from the set point after one hour. Another degree in next hour and continues to operate in that setting. Good in night where ambient temperature falls quickly.
On/Off timer: You can set off timer like 3 h or 5 h after which it will go off. Money saving mode. Also it can come alive from off mode depending on time you set.
Swing control: This is important because it should not blow air directly on your body especially infants. Hence you can set it up or down depending where you sleep. Direct air flow can affect your health.
It has manual temperature setting from 16 to 31 degrees celsius. It has On/Off timer setting from 1 to 12 hours. It has got fan speed control (3 modes). You can control swing manually and set it in 4 positions. Also it can be set in auto mode for evenly distribution. This AC has got a emergency operation switch beneath the front cover in case of remote failure. But it provides only Cool mode. A well designed remote control with a big LCD display indicating all functions including a reset button in case of any malfunction. Also this AC has got easily removable filters for cleaning. It has built in carbon deodoriser and catalyst filter for removing odour and dust. Installation was smooth provided by Snehanjali. Be careful in taking care of drain pipe’s slope while installing otherwise water will drip into your room. Regarding service I have no experience so far as it works well without any problem. Cleaning indoor unit filters will be necessary every month as it accumulates lot of dust filtered from air.
Important: No one needs less than 25 degrees celsius. So if you set temperature below this only load will be on compressor and your electricity bill will be hefty. I am comfortable at 26 degrees. Upto 160 Sq.feet one ton will do. Do remember to plug leaky points and heat input in the room.
