Danger! Goel Packers and Movers - Stay Away if you love your stuff.
We had to shift our CAR and Washing Machine from Chandigarh to Bangalore. We always check out reviews before trying someone but as they say " Vinaash Kaal, Vipreet Budhi ". we had no time to access reviews and straight contacted Goel Packers and Movers, Sector-11 Panchkula - had heard it’s good.
03-05-09: We contacted Goel Packers and Movers, Sector-11 Panchkula. They said Rs. 14000/- for car and Rs. 2500/- for transferring Washing Machine. After a little negotiation, they agreed to transfer both for Rs. 14500/-. They asked us to pay 80% payment in advance.
05-05-09: They came to collect car and advance amount. We payed them Rs. 12000/- They checked for any scratches and dents. There were 2 scratches.
06-05-09: They came to collect washing machine.
We were told that we would get delivery in Bangalore within Max 10 days. We were expecting the car and washing machine by 15th May to reach Bangalore.
Our ordeal began.
10-05-09: I called Goel Packers and Movers, Bangalore to know status about my package. They do not have status info on website and neither did the personal knew. His nameMr. Ban Singh. They didn’t even know if any such package was being sent to Bangalore. I was surprised as I expected them to have knowledge. There is no co-ordination between different offices and managers. Anyhow, he collected info and told me that Car had started from Gurgaon on 06-05-09 and we would get it’s delivery on 15-05-09, on 10th day as promised. He said washing machine was still in Chandigarh as there is no other parcel to be sent to Bangalore. He said they wud send it in a few days. I was upset at this.
15-05-09: I called Ban Singh to know about my CAR. He had no idea what I was talking about and I had to narrate him again. He or anyother staff had no idea as to where the CAR had reached. All he said was you’ll recieve it by tomorrow. A day’s delay wasn’t bothering me but I was angry as they didn’t even know where the CAR was.
16th /17th / 18th May’09: I called him everyday but he had no updates. He Didn’t Know Where The CAR Was. I was really Pissed at this and started arguing. He said he would contact me in 10 mins. After 1 hr when he didn’t call, I called him. He wouldn’t attend my call. I contacted on his landline, he had called me once from that no, someone picked and said he is not in the office. I tried and tried and tried calling his mobile. It kept buzzing and later switched off.
Around 3 p.m. I received call from him. On arguing as to why wasn’t he attending my call, he refused that he never got any missed call. Anyhow he said CAR has reached Bangalore and I’ll get it by 5 p.m. My husband came home early ofr this. It was 6 p.m. and no sign of car. we called Ban Singh.
He was hospitalised. He said he has sent the CAR and we will receive it in sometime.
It was raining heavily and peak hours so we expected that the driver might be stuck.
8:00 p.m. No sign of CAR. Instead of calling Ban SIngh, we called office. We didnt want to disturb him in the hospital. The person at office said no such car had arrived. Hell Man!
We asked him to call manager. He disconnected call. We called again and some other person attended. We asked him about our CAR and he said it’s reached and at Depot. When we asked him to confirm status as Ban singh said he had sent it, he confirmed and told it’s been sent. We asked him the driver no, **they said driver doesn’t have mobile.
How the hell is it possible when even rikshaw waalas these days have mobile. then how come the driver doesn;t?
11:00 pm: The CAR was delivered. The driver told us that he started from depot at 8 pm.
The driver asked for balance amount and we told him that washing machine was yet to be delivered. We would make the payment after getting washing machine. He started arguing and called Ban Singh. Ban Singh also argued but we had to explain that it was too dark to check the condition of CAR+ washing machine was yet to be delivered. Anyhow they left.
We had given them a well maintained CAR, cleaned. I got back a muddy CAR. Washing Machine was delivered on 25th May’09.
We were stupid enough as we hadn’t washed the car for so long and didn’t even drive. We made balance payment after receiving washing machine. by the way the drainage pipe was cut and the lid was slightly broken.
When I washed the CAR, I discovered 8 scratches and dents on my CAR+ the interiors were so rotten. God knows if the car was tranferred via Carrier or they drove it. The seat covers were horribly dirty. food was spilled, cigarettes . ashes all over. It was too late to confront them. The Car also makes a distinctive noise when it starts or, ac starts or in revers gear. Taking it tomorrow for service.
We made a big mistake. You don’t.
