Update 9-DEC-2011:


After 2 long calls, 4 email follow-ups and posting this review, I got a call from someone senior at goibibo. The person owned up the responsibility and informed that this happened due to a technical error on the system’s part. They have issued me new tickets for the same dates.


What I am still fussed about is that at first they tried to hide the error and gave me only an option of full refund which was useless as the new tickets are much more expensive then the ones I booked. So though goibibo has corrected its error, it caused a great inconvenience and over 9 stressful hours.


I am revising the service & support to 3* as they at least have corrected the error.


Original Review 8-DEC-2011:


I booked a return ticket with goibibo.com on 25-Nov-11 for Pune-Indore Jet Konnect flights. Immediately after booking I got an email from goibibo that the tickets are booked (with a minor problem that they changed every title to Mr. or Master. It seems the sight is not designed for female passengers).


I immediately went on to Jet Konnect site to confirm the PNR and Jet showed the PNR as confirmed. Now, 2 days before travel, I went back in to print the tickets and Jet site says that the PNR doesn’t exist. When I called goibibo, they said they will provide me full refund. The price difference between the ticket on 25-Nov and 8-Dec (today) is over Rs. 10K and goibibo is not taking any responsibility for the same.


The questions really are:


1) How the ticket which was booked earlier is not visible any more?


2) If there was a technical glitch because of which the tickets got cancelled, why goibibo didn’t inform about the same immediately?


3) If goibibo knew about it why didn’t they refund the money on their own?


All this points out towards a fraud. They took the money from me, used it for 2 weeks and not are happy to refund it. At the end, I am suffering because I can’t pay the current airfare and have no other way of getting to my destination in time.


Is there anyplace we can lodge complaints against such dubious behaviours? goibibo air ticketing license should be cancelled.


Also, I came to know about the site through an ICICI Bank promotion. I would request ICICI Bank not to tie up with such fraud people as sooner than later it will start reflecting on their brand value as well. In future I am not going to trust any ICICI promotions for sure.
