Extremely Disappointed – Worst Hotel Experience

I usually don’t write negative reviews, but this experience was beyond unacceptable. I recently booked 3 rooms at Hotel Riverdale, Pahalgam through Goibibo, and I feel completely cheated and let down.


Let me break it down:


I was charged Rs. 8, 000 per room, but in reality, even Rs. 2, 000 would’ve been too much for what we got. That’s an overcharge of almost Rs. 5, 000 per room – daylight robbery.


The rooms were nowhere close to the photos or descriptions shown online.


Two out of three rooms were outside the hotel premises, with zero security. All night we had stray dogs scratching at our doors – it was unsafe and terrifying.


We had opted for breakfast and dinner, but what we saw in the so-called “kitchen” was shocking. I’m attaching pictures for you to judge – it looked more like an animal shelter than a place where food is prepared.


As a regular Goibibo customer, I expected at least basic quality checks. Clearly, Goibibo’s quality assurance is either fake or completely failed in this case.


This experience has shattered my trust in Goibibo. I will never book through this platform again and would strongly warn others to be cautious, especially when booking hotels in Kashmir through Goibibo.


If there’s a customer service team that genuinely cares, I expect a full investigation and refund. But after this, I’ve stopped expecting anything.
