To book a flight(round trip) it should just take 2-3 min on any regular website. This time I got lured with the low fares displayed on the GOIBIBO website and ended up getting cheated.
Date - 2nd October 2014
I booked round trip flight - Bangalore-Chennai - amount was paid through net banking and once the payment is done my worry started. There was a page that displayed "Aww .We are working on processing your booking! donot worry . your money is safe with us we will reach out to you in 30 min on your contact number and SMS, if you don’t get any response from us then call us in 1 hr and what not"
My onward journey got confirmed and received the confirmation message. and for return journey I did not get any confirmation. Got the funny text message stating " Dear Customer, Your booking is not confirmed. We tried to reach you however, the call went unanswered. Please call us at 09213025552 to confirm your booking" This is funny as I think it is a trend for them to send this message rather then contacting customer in real.( My phone was in a full overage zone and I wonder why they were not able to get to me" - perhaps a business strategy to save money on calls and let customer handle his/her own business by calling them up. I was on call with Customer representatives for almost an hour and this is what they want to say
Cannot refund the entire money for onward and return journey as one side is confirmed. Will refund the amount of the unconfirmed ticket and will take 48 hrs( Hellooo . you guys work at snail pace - while taking money you want it right away . while refunding you take your own sweet time . that is ridiculous)
I will have to pay INR 600 extra to get the same flight or book at same fare for the next day( You must be kidding me - next day? Do I need to plan my journey and stay based on your convenience)
While on the call I was still seeing the same price of the flight ticket that I booked and they were saying it was not available on the provider site. Is that my problem . Guys get this straight . customer pays for what they see and not for what you see . so get your website corrected if there are sync issues between your side and vendor site.
I had left with no option and had to book the ticket paying the extra bucks. Felt cheated for sure . so friends please do not take risk in booking flight tickets on GOIBIBO.
