My name is Sanjay Rohra and I reside in Thane(Mumbai). I have booked a ticket on 3rd February 2012 for my Wife(Krupa Rohra) for travel from Mumbai - Srinagar - Mumbai; following are the details of ticket booked from Goibibo:

Travel Sector and Date - Mumbai to Srinagar(10th Nov 2012) & Srinagar to Mumbai(19th Nov 2012).
For some personal reasons, I had to cancel the second half of the ticket. I called up Goibibo and got the Srinagar to Mumbai(departure - 19th Nov 2012) ticket falling under PNR - NZTIHT cancelled on 3rd February 2012. I also requested Goibibo to waive off their cancellation charges for this ticket; as I had booked 8 other tickets same day same sector for my family members and they agreed to it. I got a confirmation email from executive that the said amount would be refunded as soon as they have the refund from JetLite people. They said it would tentatively take about 15-20 working days for the refund to be processed.
I paid Rs. 7540/- for the above ticket; whereas after cancelling the second half of the ticket no executive was able to confirm the amount that would be refunded. They suggested me to call JetLite and confirm the amount that they would be refunding to GoIbibo and Goibibo have waived off the cancellation charges they would refund the same JetLite amount to my HSBC Credit Card. I called up JetLite and they confirmed that Rs. 3047/- would be refunded back to Goibibo. I called up Goibibo and confirmed them this amount, I have an email from executive stating that complete airline refund would be tranferred to my account.
I tried calling them regularly after every 5-7 days and they kept on confirming that amount would be transferred soon; whereas no one was able to confirm when.
Finally I called up Jetlite a week ago on 8th March 2012 to confirm; they said that they have refunded the amount back to Goibibo, after confirming it from Goibibo the same day; I was shocked to hear that I would not get the amount until my wife travels the first half of the ticket i.e., 10th Nov 2012.
Imagine, we are still in March 2012 and I need to wait for November 2012 to get my refund of Rs. 3047/- from Goibibo. I was never said before by any executive neither is this information present on their website. I am shocked and could not digest when the second half of the ticket is already cancelled then why do one has to wait to receive the amount until the first half of ticket is not utilized. I called up JetLite again to confirm this and they said if I would have booked this ticket directly from them, they would have cancelled the ticket and refunded me the amount with in 15-20 days, as they say there is no such claw which says you have to utilize the first half of ticket only then you refund could be processed.
I would have called up Goibibo tones of time in last one and a half month whereas all in vain. I am just landing up putting money and time in calling them time and again for my refund.
I would really appreciate; if Goibibo people could revert back on the confirmation of until when could I have the amount refunded back.
This being my second transaction with Goibibo. I would suggest people not to book tickets with Goibibo as they are good in deducting the amount; whereas while refund you just need to chase them and they are hard to be climisht. You just put in your time money and peace of mind to obtain your money back.
