Golconda Fort is one of the tourist attraction in Hyderabad. It is said that this fort was the capital of the ancient kingdom of Golconda which ruled here in the 14th to 16th century. This fort is related to Qutub Shahi Dynasty. It is situated 12 kilometers from main town Hyderabad. I have visited this fort two times. This has good built up area and this is maintained by Archaeological Survey of India. It entry is changeable. I had spent two hours there to see all the Golconda Fort.
It is a place of interest for lover of history. Alter a long span of time the fort is still stands as one of Hyderabad’s greatest architectural wonders. One of it’s greatest engineering marvels is the fantastic acoustic effects: one handclap at a certain point below the entrance dome can be heard at the highest point of the pavilion almost a kilometer away. This was said to be used for warning the royals in case of an attack. In the middle of the Fort there was a place where you can hear sound by wall side if someone said on other side of corner. I have seen the first fort where there was a place for bathing for dead bodies of soldiers on that time. It was unique thing there. There is a small garden and a small temple inside the Fort.
You should take some eatable and mineral water with your self as there was no any shop is available inside the fort.The place is not maintained properly. The view from the top of the Golconda fort is worth watching. This place is really praise worthy to visit. I will suggest for visiting here if you go to Hyderabad.
