Switch Off!

You take a meandering left turn at a derelict dragway with a glaring gate on the Bombay-Nasik highway and then switch off.

Switch off the phone and switch off the world out there to get you and switch off all the stress of modern day living. In a green valley is ensconced The Golden Resort. The place is literally hidden from the world, mobile phone range, included. You shall return rejuvenated!

Uday Bhai, the manager was very helpful in getting the telephonic reservation done.

The resort is about 5 kms from the Igatpuri town, which has many shops, and it would be a good idea to buy your personal stuff while you are driving in.

We reached there at about 3 pm and the food that was served within 10 minutes of ordering was way beyond my expectations. The Mixed Vegetable with that twist instantly became my staple for the 4 days that we stayed there!

In the evening we went to a Dargah that is next door and that experience is Divine.

Best Experience: Within the resort, the best place is the area behind the swimming pool. Go there and spend hours and hours, sitting there in the greenest and coolest of the groves, doing absolutely nothing. Maybe, sip on a beer. But that should be it. Nothing more.

The staff is courteous and our dealing with all of them showed contended employees.

Worst Experience: The tea bags used in the pot tea are beyond hopeless. Buy your supply from Igatpuri(many decent brands available), should you need.

The bathroom’s exhaust fan provides ample opportunity to the lonely lizard to enter in and cause SHRIEKING-girlfriend-in-the-midst-of-her-bath-now-running-hither-and-thither-in-the-bedroom-with-the-towel-haphazardly-wrapped-around!(Not too bad, actually, if you think about it!)
