Good Clean Fun - For Everyone

I have the VCD of this brilliant comedy and I watch it once every ten days. If ever I find myself in a crappy mood, I put the VCD on, and the jaadoo of laughter dispels all gloominess.

As a film, as a comedy, Golmaal is in a class of its own. The storyline is fantastic, and can engage and entertain all age groups. The performances are excellent, in particular, Amol Palekar and Utpal Dutt. Even the small cameo appearances by stalwarts like Om Prakash and Keshto-da leave an indelible mark.

The main reason that I am able to watch this film tirelessly is because the story is so very fast-paced. There’s never a dull moment. The plot unravels at breakneck speed. Not to forget the non-stop laugh riot!

Also, Golmaal has a touch of class. The humour is good, clean, intelligent and fresh. No old, stale jokes pulled out of the hat as in current day comedies. Moreover, the clean humour makes it perfect for watching a family.

I give this film a five star rating because that’s the limit allowed by Mouthshut. If I had my way, I would give it ten stars or more!

Perhaps, the only other film I can watch as frequently is Padosan -- but that is another story... another review.
