The season of comedy continues and rohit shettys balantaly pitches itself at the audience that wants nothing more from a movie than TIMEPASS!!!!!!
forget plot, character, development narrative , the film is just about the four guys having a big blast .the gang of four led by gopal (ajay devgan) carry out petty scams and pile into the hostel room of laxman till they r kicked out by the principal..they stumble onto a large owned by a blind couple (paresh rawal and sushmita joshi) and gopal pushed laxman into pretending to be their long lost grandson....
and if the totally moronic comedy works, its becz of the timing of the four actors is impeccable.they r sporting enuff even when the gags make them look rather undignified, like ajay getting knifed in the posterior .
A lot of comedy is based on the odd fact of old folk touching laxman and hearing gopal as the grandson sameer .the films script (neeraj vora) is made up of non stop nonsense with the aim of getting as many laughs as possible , never mind how silly the going ons may be!!Even the villians r cartoon characters , one of them keep getting hit with missiles meant for others. Unlike other comedies , this one doesnt descend much into vulgarity , just occasionally skimming the surface .....for the serious ajay devgan its a REFRESHING CHANGE .it wud be tough for a comedy to get more sense less than golmaal but then it makes no claims to intelligence or sophistication.hand brains and taste to the usher along with the ticket stub!!!
