My car developed starting problem suddenly at about 12.15pm today. After trying for about 10 minutes, I dialled Go Mechanic no to seek assistance. The executive, while noting my complaint, asked me to take their annual membership for Rs 1800/- which will make such mechanic visits and towing free for a year, as and when required. I paid Rs 1800/- online through my CC and my service request for a mechanics assistance was accepted at 12.45pm. I was assured that within next 5 to 10 mins, I would get a call from nearby garage, on sharing my live location, mechanic would reach in next 15 mins. Subsequently I got a message from Go Mechanic, confirming my order and asking to pay another Rs 100/- to confirm slot of appointment with Mechanic for 2pm. I paid Rs 100/- also online immediately. But nobody called me till 2pm. Again, I contacted Go Mechanic helpline no, again same assurance was repeated by a different executive and again, same result, no call, no mechanic. I repeated follow up call at 2.30pm & 3pm and they repeated the same assurance but no result. The contact no of the garage owner in Mohali, who was supposedly going to attend to my service request, which the executive shared, turned out to be "Out of Order" no. Having spent 3 hours on the road and Rs 1900/- by then, I had lost my patience and appetite for Go Mechanic. Sought help from a local resource, who came along with a mechanic, attended to battery of my car. Finally at 4pm, I could start driving my car again towards my destination.
Worst, when I lost hope with Go Mechanic and found a way out, till time, there is no message from Go Mechanic about execution of my service request.
I checked up with few of my friends, all of them narrated similar experiences with Go Mechanic in the recent past and strongly advised me never to rely on it.
Lessons learnt, I will never USE GO MECHANIC APP for any Service.
