Go...went and gone

I read this book a week ago. 1024 pages in all!!! God!!! how can they write such large stuff? the book highlights Scarlett O’Hara, a lady of will during the days of cold war in America. this lady faces all the problems... Yankees, carpet buggers, labour pain of her beaux’s wife Melanie (another character), autocratic government, niggers and what not!!!

In the bargain she makes three marriages, having lost the 1st hubby in war, 2nd being a KKK member was shot dead by Yankees and the third Mr.Rhett Butler (another character) is planning to divorce her when the novel ends somewhat abruptly.

It is a good novel for ladies especially as more than half of the pages are description of the skirts, hats, plums and what not!! The other half is okay... One thing that is appalling about the novel is the transformation of Scarlett from a ’touch me not’ lady to a ’earn the daily bread’ types.

Rhett’s character is also lopsided....

In short, I didn’t find this novel worth its claims.

Girls may read it, boys..please don’t.
