As a nexus device, it gets update for over 2 years.Nexus 5 released in Oct-2013 got update all the way to starting-mid 2016( it got Android 6.0.1) .
Nexus 4 had a similar story.Nexus 6p would not be different either.I definitely recommend getting it as its performance is still among the best in market and updates make a mark that this device would be updated for years.Nexus 5 still performs as good as Galaxy s6.Nexus 6p gives a good competition to S7.
Nexus 6p has an excellent camera, amazing battery life, a big and bright display, a unibody like design and not to forgot the performance.
