The Google pixel XL is a flagship device so it is one the best smartphones of 2016. And it ran well through 2017 as well. Although the phone has boring design, the dual tone back wasn’t so pleasing to everyone it depends on personal opinions. The phone really big bezels which is really ugly as the bottom chin of the phone is way to large and it comes with absolutely no functionality. The phone also welcomes many scratches and dents to it but, in my use of one year, the phone never broke. I dropped it from my hand many times but all I saw was dents on the sides but nothing on both the front and back glasses not even a single crack. Well this might depend on the angle of the drop but the phone has fairly good build quality. The speakers are not so good. Just a single speaker at the left bottom. Coming to the performance part, this phone comes with 4GB of RAM and a Snapdragon 821 processor which runs pretty fast. From multi-tasking to heavy gaming the phone runs really smooth. It is probably the best android phone out there as it is phone from google. The best operating system you could use in any smartphone, other than personal preferences. The camera is the most delightful part of the phone. Google said it is the world’s best camera and it didn’t disappoint at all. This camera is no doubt the best and it was at the top crossing every new flagship of 2017. S8, IPhone 7plus, One plus 5 any of these devices weren’t able to compete the Google Pixel in terms of camera. The camera produces excellent photos any smartphone camera can. Although it lacks optical image stabilization but still the videos are shot pretty well. Pictures have a really high dynamic range. Front camera is not so out of the league but holds up well against other smartphones. So the Google Pixel packs really good specs, OS and camera. Also the battery of the device is really good. Runs throughout the day with some juice remaining. It has a Quad HD Amoled Display which produces really vibrant colors.
Overall this device comes with excellent specs, OS, camera, battery, display, build quality. And also has some drawbacks like the big bezels, single speaker system etc.
Launched at a price of 67, 000 for the 32GB model, this phone is a little overpriced but the prices have come down so one may consider to buy this phone.
