Well any one who uses the internet uses or at least has heard of Google.Awesome !! That is the word I would use to describe its utility.Founded by two Stanford graduate students Sergey Brin and Lawrence Page , this is THE search engine to use if you are looking for something on the internet.If the object of your search has been mentioned in any web directory then chances are Google will locate it for you.The algorithm on which Google is designed is supposed to be the best !! No wonder companies like Microsoft are trying to develop alternatives to Google. Google offers some specialised search features too . https://froogle.google.com can be used to search for products( pins to planes ). https://news.google.com can be used to search for the latest news( the software detects and lists the most important news items at that point of time, whether it is from newspapers or news sites). Blazing fast !! That’s the word to describe the speed at which Google fetches the links.And sources at Google say they are still fine tuning it.So you can only imagine the results that Google will fetch. There are other good search engines like askjeeves.com, altavista.com.msn search but Google tops them all. The one drawback is that Google sometimes lists sites that are completely outdated or have no relation to the search query.It would be great if it were able to list sites based in a reverse chronological manner( ie. latest to oldest). Way to go Google !! Keep on searching and fetching.
