Google is a mulitinational public computing, Internet search and advertising technologies corporation.It was founded by Sergey.M.Brin and Lawrence.E.Page(often known as the "Google guys")in September 1998 in California. Google runs over one million servers in data centres around the world and processes over one billion search requests and twenty petabytes of user generated data everyday. The company’s stated mission from the beginning was to "organize the world’s information and to make it universally accessible and useful"
Coming to the point, I really mean as to what I have mentioned in the title. This is evident from the fact that the moment you enter Google and type your search, within an instant you would find endless amount of results for that particular search. For many common queries or searches , you would be amazed to find hundreds of millions or possibly billions of searches(although Google shows a maximum of not more than 1000 searches for any search item).In addition, you could even find images, videos, maps, news, books, as well as links to Orkut and GMail for your query.
Another amazing aspect of this website is its speed and accuracy.Often search results would be displayed within 0.1 to 0.5 seconds.It has indexed more than 2 trillion webpages so far.
Google keeps coming up with new softwares, websites and ideas apart from being an excellent search engine. Not too long ago, it came up with GMail, where today millions have registered in it. People can send and receive mails, read the latest news, reviews, as well as many other things offered by the website. About a couple of years ago, it came up with Google Earth, a software which shows actual satellite captured images of any part of Earth. Not only would it be easy for a person to search his/her own address, but also a detailed image of it as well as many other places of interest. Apart from these, it also has Google Chrome, similar to the website itself, Google talk, Google Picasa photo organization and editing feature and many more new programmes and features.
Google also provides certain schemes or offers to its customers occassionally(I am not sure of this since I had read about it somewhere). It provides total satisfaction to its customers and keeps offering something new.
On the whole, I can say that this has transformed the world and the Internet and makes mankind appear a 100 years advanced in terms of technology.
