I used my Gmail ID to buy a domain last year. Blogger uses Google apps to allow a domain purchase and it can be used on your blog. Its easy, so I went for it, despite the rate being higher than most other site. After 6 months Google changed blogger rules and policies stating that blogger can not be used commercially and overnight I found my blog removed and my ID cancelled.
Erik - from Enom Technical Support told me that Google wont renew domains like this and that was the end. I asked him to ensure that domain is not to be renewed at their end, even if google apps try to, but Erik never responded. In June 2012, I was charged by Google & Enom for the domain renewal. When I sent them mails Enom team referred me to their Google clients team, which sent me a URL to access my account. I did that and closed future renewals. I asked ENOM, why I was not referred to google clients team by Eric in April? and why was the domain renewed when I had specifically asked Enom team, not to allow? I got no answer.
I asked for refund and cancellation of renewal which happened without my approval and again - no answer.
