New found delight

Up until recently I was a lycos boy. That is, the only search engine I would use was lycos.co.uk

Yet my cousin used google.com in front of me, and the ability of searching to more accurate sites was revealed to me, since then, I have found what I want, when I want using google

If you want to search for an item but fear it may yield too many results, you can use the ’-’ key to indicate that these words are of no use, or the ’+’ key to show that this is a key word.

An example of how this helped me was in researching for my History work. I needed to find out about Christina of Sweden. But simple searching for ’Christina’ brought endless results about singers and actresses. When I put their surname and the minus key they vanished, and up popped what I wanted.

Also at google you can search, or ’feel lucky’. The feel lucky option takes you to the site at the top of the list of results you would get, should you do a normal search.

Google will also include a search time for the amount of time taken to get the results. My searches average at around 25, 000 pages, and this is usually done in around 0.2 seconds - as you can see this is fast.

A good, fast, accurate search engine can be found here, I urge you to try it.
