Firstly, Let me start of by saying this cuisine is not suited to everyone’s palate. The cuisine I am mentioning is kolhapuri. It is extremely spicy, extremely oily and to the health obsessed its not very healthy either.
Outside its regional boundaries, this cuisine has few authentic takers or makers. Hotel Gopi, situated exactly opposite to Perugate police station in Sadashivpeth is an excellent place to initiate oneself into the love for this fine cuisine.
The place is very small and can be easily missed. With no ambience, music or staff to talk about let me get straight down to the food. The mutton kolhapuri here is quite original. The mutton is tender, juicy and quite full of flavour and it would most definitely have you on the verge ofntears the first time(yes its that spicy).
