In 2011, I accidentally got admission in GEC Rajkot from GEC Bhuj. I didn’t wanted to leave Bhuj but I was helpless. So I started studing In IC Engineerning at this college. Now I am gonna share my expreience to you.
Fist of all, the college is very far away from the city and located near a village. So we have to take auto everyday. The worst thing is that After 6 PM the college gives leave but the autos couldn’t be found. So we had to leave the college before 5 PM. The college has the same infrastructure like the other GECs in Gujarat. But Garden area and the inner building garden was so dirty that I couldn’t feel that I am in an Engineering college.
As I told you that I got the admission in reshuffling round, the academics was started and also my branch was changed so I didn’t know about any subjects. My first day when I gone to my class and went for the first lecture, It was of EEE subject’s lab. I gone there the lecturer took the attendance, but surprising thing was that only 12 students were present from 72 students. After that, lecturer gave some sums to solve and gone away from the class. I didn’t knew anything about the subject so I was waiting for the lecturer to explain me the way to solve. But after 2 hours he came just to dismiss the class. I was shocked to see this type of behavior of lecturer. But it gone in routine. so I addicted to this. This is how academics of the college. And the faculties are also missing.
Administration department was good and helpful. They helped me a lot. The college is under GTU so the only extracurricular program was youth festival also in this case college was not so supporting.
The college doesn’t have canteen, which is very troubling because In village there are also no any restaurant or canteen outside. Only a cabin where chips and some packaged snacks were available. Most of the day, 3-4 lectures from 8 lectures were free due to shortage of faculties, So it was also worthless and inconveniencing to go the college the college.
After completing 1 semester in the college, I dropped out from there and gave entrance exam next year and took admission in Bhavnagar. I never recommend this college to anyone for students.
