A Very Smelly museum!! Wont go again!!

Well I visited this museum about say 12 yrs ago with my dad and my bro. It was a Saturday and my dad’s office is holiday on Saturday but unfortunately not my mother’s:(

So since was summer holidays and we were just thinking we to go and so we decided to visit the museum for the very first time.  But we never when it would probably be the our last visit as of me!

Since the place was not that interesting, I dont remember a lot of things in this museum.  So took the lunch and then entered the museum premises.  We parked our car at the parking lot and then got the tickets and entered the museum.

The inner looks of the museum is like entering a old house almost close to a haunted palace.  may it was becoz the museum was established in 1851! the oldest of the oldest.

So then we went on with visiting the items and articles one by one.  Well the facts wer all interesting but the items kept there were are very dirty. and becoz of non maintenance, it started to give foul smell.

There no AC or even proper Fan facility inside the halls and even the lighting was not proper!  We didt enter many places becoz it was very horrible!

So we just went on looking at those knifes, statues and bones.  Wat I likes was the big Dinosaur bone structure right in the middle of the main hall, I think it was entrance.  And I also liked the list of weapon used in the past. Those wer all amazing.

Then, we left the museum at 5pm.

Pros -

1) Yes, u r visiting a heritage building which over a century old!  Visiting this museum just of the building is worth the ticket price.

2) Large parking lot inside the premises.

3) A lots of places to sit at the museum and relax.

4) The artifacts are arranged in a good manner inside the museum.

Cons -

1) The museum is very dirty and especially very very smelly.  I got head ache due to that.

2) No AC or even Fan system at many of the places. No proper ventilation too.

3) Some of the places are very dark and scary. Not well lit.

4) Lot of artifacts wer missing.

5) there wer no guides inside to guide the visitors.

Well this is wat I came across about over 12 yrs ago. Since the museum was not that interesting, I never visited this place after that. So I am not sure wats the condition of the museum as of 2015!

Overall, if u r new to Chennai and want to experience how the museum looks like in the hot City, then u r good to visit.!
