I subscribed to GQ India ( a publication of Conde Nast) for a period of one year beginning January 2010. I am a regular reader of the magazine since it debuted in October 2008. I was offered a 50% discount by the magazine (Rs 600 instead of newsstand price of Rs 1, 200 for a years subscription) and a free head phone which they claimed was worth Rs 3, 000
The free gift arrived promptly but I was surprised to find that the headphone which was claimed to be worth Rs 3, 000 was unbranded and clearly not worth 3, 000. Also the quality was so pathetic that it gave away in a few weeks times
Not to the main grouse, The Subscription
I received the magazine on time (usually within the first 3 - 4 days of the month). But this continued only till March 2010. Afterwards there was no sight of the magazine and I had to call their Mumbai office and had to ask them for the missing copy.
To add insult to injury, I have not received till date (17 July 2010) the July edition of GQ India. I have called their office twice and have been promised that I will receive a copying two working days (both the times, but where the copy went is a mystery yet to be solved).
Soif you are thinking of subscribing to GQ India, do it at your own risk. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!!!!
