I had visited this hotel during my honeymoon on 28 to 30th May, 2010. To make it best, I had gone for honeymoon pkg. However, I was not very satisfied with the hotel interiors and its rooms. It was not at all worth money deal. For peak season they charged, 4500/- a night for luxury delux room. (with honeymoon pkg)Here are the bad points:
(1) When we entered the hotel the Toilets were not cleaned at the full still they had put the strip surrounding it to make us believe that it is cleaned properly
(2) Almost all the towels were yellowish and seemed dirty. Even after asking repeatedly they always brought the same kind of towels. I finally strictly asked them to bring the brand new ones. My wife was so disgusted with that experience, that she never used any hotel towels throughout our honeymoon in other places also.
(3) Window glass was broken and was never replaced
(4) The power was not there when we reached. We had to spent many hours in dark. There is no generator back up.
(5) There is no proper vantilation in bathroom
(6) The wood work of Cot/bed and all other furniture seems quite old. The Bed was not very good and one of itspillarwas moving.
(7) Table lamps were not working.
(8) They offered Cake for honeymoon pkg which tasted very local. We ate only 1 piece and returned it to them. (9) Sound transparency was so high with the upper room that we were able to hear the phone ring when mobile rang in upper room
(10) Remote control for TV was out of date.
(11) We were offered Jacuzzi (along with Sona + steam bath); it was filled with dirty and smelly water. It was so horrible that we both felt stressed out after having it !!
(12) There was no zorbing as per our offer.
(14) There was no 2 km walk (instead it was a 2 min walk) with guide as per offer.
(15) There was no star gazing at night as per offer
On good note, the service was good and the food was also good. Also the view from the hotel was nice. I asked some taxi guy regarding this hotel. He told that there is an unnecessary hype created as this hotel belongs to some MLA. There are few better hotel across dalhousie.
I would not recommend this hotel if you want in-built facilities. Search for better options.
