Firstly let me introduce myself. I am a GMCite and hence I am writing this review. Who else would know better about a college than its students and its teaching faculty. This college has been around since 155 years nearly ( the 3rd oldest college in India). It is spread over 34 acres of land and It consists of JJ group of hospitals which include JJH, St. George and GT hospital and Cama Hospital to start with. There are many more peripharal hospitals affiliated to the premier medical Govt. Institute in bombay. For those who care to know this was the place where many important researches were done including that of TB and malaria. The current AIDS research program is also going on with great fervour at GMC. It admits 200 students every year for MBBS course. Other courses offered are Post graduation, Super specialisation and diplomas, nursing etc. Rated among the top ten colleges in India, its students are spread all over India and the World. Some of the best doctors of India have their academic history closely linked to this institution.
Yes there may be some news of corruption and problems within GMC in the news these days. But every big place has its own problems, Doesnt it? And bigger they are, bigger the problems get.
What you must look at is the fantastic history, great products and the International name this institute has.
PS:- For 150+ years this institute has always been at JJ road, byculla and not at Chowpatty as written by the webmasters of this website. The GMC Gymkhana is located at Chowpatty next to Taraporewalla Acquarium.
