I wanted to use some good plywood for my newly built home for the furnishing of wardrobs and beds.In spite of other recommended products by my friend who is a dealer in related products, I fell for the advertising of the greenply plywood. Also my contractor suggested it (Now I suspect he might have got some commission also) I bought this plywood from their dealers at Cochin. I selected Club model from green ply industries which is their top brand which provide a lifetime guarantee and is comparatively expensive also.
After making all the furnitures within one year , I had to detach my headboard of the bed and I was surprised to see termites on it. It is so painful to see this only one year after completing the work including the painting. I took Photographs of it and contacted the company(I shall try to post the snaps here also for the benefit of viwers who plan to buy greenply). There was no question of dampness coming in the area.
The most pathetic part is company responded by saying they are not saying this is 100% termite resistant, and it can happen sometime". Also I could see fungus like white patches forming in the wardrobe doors etc. For that they suggested to use some chemical.
My advise to anyone who are planning to buy a marine plywood is dot go for this expensive greenply, It is not worth it.The company cheats you with a very poor quality Plywood.
