I am not going to wruite a critique on both greg and ganguly as I feel that I do not have the qualification to do so
everyone seems to be siding for either one or the ther....
I would like to produce a non baised honest view..
I will like to request you to go through my rev on saurav ganguly before or after reading this rev according to ur convinience as it is a supporting rev
a televison news channel invited veiwers to sms and voice their support for greg and saurav .......
The media is taking potshots at saurav but lets not forget that this is an issue between the captain the coach and the BCCCI
Firstly I have gone through the whole text of the email sent by chappell And I would like to present my view .......
1 Yes the indian team mambers are a pampered lot...... and they need to be pulled up there have been instances of disciplinary problems with sehwag and yuvraj.
Chappell is a no nonsense coach who will not be overawed with the star status of these cricketrs by shooting off the mail he has shown that he means business..
that will help in bringing about the hunger to perform .
2 Saurav Ganguly is an elegant left hander and a player who has scored more than 10, , 000 runs in one day internationals.He deserves a place in the team I know that people say that he is not performing any more but then sachin also went through a lean phase and and if he deserves a time period so does saurav and I have one question to ask the critics Mark Taylor steve waugh all great captains were given an extended time to rediscover their form just because they were good captains and
if they can be given the time by the aussie boards The BCCI can do it
3 do we have a successor in hand ? granted even ganguly was be pushed into the captaincy but lets groom a succcesor first .Rahul Dravid is touted as a captain but do we need to put the most solid and dependable batsman under undue pressure ???
the fact is ganguly does deserve a look..
4 No Sport in the world is without its share of politics and bickering .The amount of money that is pushed is hige and yes everyone does it but the fact is that ganguly has pushed in really good talent too... harbhajan balaji irfan dhoni and how many of them are from bengal........ ???
5 The incidents in the dressing room are not something that have happened overnight they have been occuring and hidden by indian coaches who did not have the guts but chappell is a breath of fresh air ...... and I hope he continues being firm lets not forget that the politics is at the selector and zonal level ... and not the fault of the captain alone and they have been no instances no solid proof that it has been done
6 It is not known for sure whether dada was faking injuries or lying or creating problems .A Enquiry can be conducted by a discplinary meeting but Mr Dalmiya forgot to create one I guess.....
it is said that saurav was hesitant to bat against red hot pace but the entire batting order except sachin are uncomfortable aginst pace why single out dada alone and if he has a prob then it can be sorted out with consultation with experts after all its about confidence and attitude .....
7 I think the incident is a positive one and the learnings are
a) It is clear that everyone has to perform and no one is above the team the public support for greg has ensured that saurav will no longer will be complacent ....players like yuvraj and sehwag will be more disciplined I hope ...
b)Chappel must have realised that he has to be careful cos of the passion that indian ghave for the game he has to be diplomatic and a confortationist attitude will not work.........

like every passionate fan I would like to just forward a few points ......
1 An Perfomance rev After a certain fixed peiod involving a board consisting of
1 sports writers --- the opinion will not be biased
2 coach
3 statistics backed reports
No member of the board should be involved .............
A perfomance linked reward plan which should be framed such that the incentives should be based solely on the match wins and not ind perfomances ....
so thats it this is just a rev not on chappel or ganguly or on their abilities it is the opinion of a passionate cricket fan.
