Be careful with Groupon India money-back guarantee

Simple case, got a faulty product, and Groupon ducks away from replacement because I could not notice the defect until after 7-days. The watch I purchased from them was for gifting so I did not use it the first week, on the 9th day the person to whom I gifted pointed me to the hour hand that was hanging loose inside the watch.


Obviously a faulty product, and I immediately mailed Groupon. Upon further research I found that Groupon now has a terrible reputation globally. See this

Groupon Promise says: We offer a 7-day refund guarantee if your product is found to be damaged/defective on arrival.


Your order got delivered on March 25, 2013.


Had you contacted us within the 7 days time period, we would have been in a position to help.

Hi!


I am extremely disappointed at the attached product that I received from you. Except for its looks everything else is faulty. The hour hand is not even attached to the center so it keeps floating around. I had taken


this for gifting but unfortunately I don’t think something so grossly defective can be gifted to anyone. Please send me a replacement or take it back for a refund.


Groupon was one of the brands that I trusted because of your global presence but this particular experience has shown that Groupon India is not living up to the standards set by your global parent. As a US company I was expecting your products to even beat leading e-commerce providers like Flipkart, Myntra etc.
