Unlike its US avatar, the Indian is a fraud entity with fake discounts projected. I bought a travel deal where a hotel stay at a room worth Rs.12K was offered for Rs.5K. The room type and name of the hotel were not disclosed. On confirmation which happened 3 days before the date, leaving little time for any other action, I realized by visiting the company’s website that the room offered was worth only 5.5K.
Actual discount being only 10% while it was projected as a 67% discount deal. I asked Groupon to upgrade the room in the same hotel to that worth 12K or refund 50% of my amount as I had to stay there now anyways as per my plan. With no remedy, I WAS LEFT WITH NO CHOICE BUT TO LIVE WITH THIS FRAUD BY GROUPON.
The customer executive may have tried his best but was probably told by his seniors that I may take legal action or even go to consumer court.
