London Heathrow - Abu Dhabi

I went off to abu dhabi for a short holiday in feb. Yes! I thought a great chance to try Gulf air and its great product, which people had been saying was improving rapidly. The whole saga began when we arrived at London Heathrow, our flight had been cancelled. We would have to transfer to a flight to bahrain and then on from there to abu dhabi! what a problem I thought! we had the business class lounge of virign atlantic to use (we had paid extra for) and we wouldnt be able to use it because the flight was due to leave 2 hrs before our secduled flight to auh was suppose to! So off to the plane and no time to use duty free! what a great start to a holiday.
The aircraft was a newly fitted one. A330-200, which was a bonus. from talking to fellow passengers it happens alot to the last GF flight out of LHR, the cancel it and then bump those passengers on the bahrain or muscat or abu dhabi flight and then the connection on. The cabin crew were rude! no eminity kits for anyone, no one at the door to greet us, what a great image, I thought.
The meal was served around 2hrs into the flight and as soon as that was done the crew were in the galley. all you could hear was laughing and them talking! I wanted to order duty free yet they didnt serve and when I asked she said she would be back. I never saw here again. Now I hope not all GF crew and I know some arent because I ave friends in abu dhabi who fly for GF. so it is only a few who are letting the whole crew of gf down!
Now the transfer to the A320 from bahrain to abu dhabi. ok flight only 45mins.
Well what a great image of GF after my first flight. At least I had a great holiday to look forward to! but then there was the flight to LHR again! NOOO!
Abu Dhabi - London Heathrow
A340-300
This was meant to be a direct flight from auh - lhr, yet it had orginated in muscat, and none of the muscat know they were having a stop in auh!
The crew were just as bad! The meal was below average and again no amenity kits!and to top it off..........no IFE, the aircraft was so old that even the ceiling TV were of a bad quality. at least this was a night flight!
As we on finshing the flight 1-2hrs until LHR I asked for a tissue as I had terrible cold.....and the stewardess replyed ’im here for your safety and not for your comvience!’ WOW that was a gd one I thought I had never heard that one.....not even on an ameriacm carrier!
Well on arrival to LHR I was glad that the joruney had finished! Looks like I should have stuck to etihad! and I know will! dont be tricked by cheap tickets from GF!
ETIHAD is much better! also a not GF has stopped there service from LHR -AUH looks like EY have been giving them a ride for there money! GO ETIHAD AIRWAYS!
