I recently wathched Gunjan Saxena streaming on Netflix. The life of the first woman air force pilot of India, Gunjan Saxena, has been beautifully potrayed.
The struggles of her life and how she overcomes them have been depicted which inspires people. The movie also imbues us with a sense of patriotism and pride but it also bruises the sentiments of people by the way it has potrayed the conduct of our Indian Air Force. I was deeply hurt to see a few scenes where they show how Indian air force does not appreciate girls. On the contrary, from what I’ve knowledge since many of my family members are serving the nation including women as well, I know very well that our army, navy and Air Force give women so much respect. The opportunities for women have been increasing in the armies and such movies which try to defame them should not be promoted.
