I Joined an IT Company in Gurgaon ... With a Lust for Career Change from Sales to Information Technology ... Though, I dont regret my decision of this career move ... I definately feel I shoud have tried for such a change in Bangalore Itself ...
But I still feel Gurgaon is not a place for any South Indian ......especially someone from Bangalore or Hyderabad ......
1) Every 2nd Hotel or Restaurant in Bangalore provides with a North Indian stuff to eat as you find a Big Chunk Of North Indians residing there ..... However, I have failed to recognise a single place that can provide quality South Indian Meals , (Finally Few days Back I managed to find a restaurant and I ordered a plate of IDLI - and it costed me a Whooping 45 Bucks (Man thats not what TAJ and West End Charge in Bangalore or any other 5 star Hotel)... Fair enuf Meals is something that’s ... immaterial for someone who is here to make up his career .
2) Next Comes The surroundings and serenity of Gurgaon ..... They say its a Mini Singapore ... lol ... Malls , Malls , Malls , Malls ...... well I always ask myself and my colleagues ... How did they manage to see these sky scrapers in a cloud covered with Dust and Sand ..... Firstly, in a temeperature of 40+ Degrees ... How can anyone afford to look up to these SkyScrapers ..... With the revolutionary MALL OF INDIA coming up in DLF CITY ... The Dust has Swallowed the entire City ...
3) 24 hours a Day and ... and 14 hours of Power-Outage... Thats more than miserable for someone returning from 10 hours of Labour ..... Its fine as long as you are in Office ..... But imagine ur weekends ..... (Most will be longing for the END of WeekEND)....
4) With all the great characteristics of this City ... You will still manage to find a Broker at every nook and corner of the city , (every second person on the street is a Broker) and the rent is far from realistic ....... 10, 000 rupees for a 2BHK with no real good amenities .......
5) With The city covered with Flyovers and 8 laned Roads ... you will still be amused to see A big Traffic Clog and Most vehicles damaged from all 4 sides ..... And that explains the Traffic Discipline in this city ......
6) One Bottle of Kingfisher Beer = 145 Rupees ..... Goodness Gracious u get 2 pitchers @ happy hours in Bangalore .......
7) U need to have a CAR to venture out with ur Family ...... And Its highly Unsafe to Venture out after 8PM without a CAR ... Eve Teasing is the Birth Right of Local youths here ...... I hope most of you read newspapers for latest criminal updates in Gurgaon ......
Its been over a month that I am in this City ... and its already taken a Toll on me ......
And so far I have seen 5-6 People being relocated from Hyderabad / Bangalore to Gurgaon over the past two weeks ..... and all of them are either Looking for a new Job or Struggling to Get back to their base location ........ Am just one among them ... I am longing to get back to Bangalore ASAP ......
NO WONDER Yudhishtar, the eldest brother among the Pandavas, gifted this village (Guru-Gram) to his guru, Dronacharya , and No wonder Why BANGALORE IS GETTING CROWDED More and More each and every day ........
