Maniratnam another feather to hat, butnot the best

Mani ratnam has once again shown that he can extract perfection from his cast. "Guru" movie is a work of perfection in terms of entire crew’s effort. each character has shown naturality, attachement, compliance to each other. everthing merges together to give "Guru". a biography kind of movie; basically revolving around Gurukand Desai(very close to Dirubhai Ambani); has been woven together with some masala and real life images. I would say the team has shown sincerity to their respective roles. BUT THIS IS NOT HIS BEST WORK SO FAR, I INSIST

There are certain roles which captured my attention. First one is Mithun-da who was looking extremely relaxed and natural and carried his role with great ease. A great gandhian role delivered with such great perfection and ease, adding a humour touch.Next would be Vidya balan who was easily sat through her character in the wheel chair. A beautiful kissing scene with madhavan, was taken with such an ease. Any way a kiss is not the movie, right! One praise if I dont give to Mallika sherawat it would really unfair. Maiyya Maiyya song is beautiful and really well danced and choreographed. She has done the dance number very well and the sensousness has come out very well and no vulgarity. But personally she doesnot appeal to me.Hmmm... Ash good job. she seemed to have stretched herself. That easiness doesnot seem to be with her. Nevertheless very good job.Madhavan very easily finished his job; very well matching it with Mithun and Abhishek between whom he had to strike a balance. He should have been utilized more, how I dont know, maybe Mani wanted only that much from that character. Great job Maddy!

Abhishek..the protagonist...long way from refugee, this is a great challenge for him and he has overcome it with flying colours. I liked him in sarkar alot. It was a smooth look, a polished one. Here the role was more down to earth practical and shrewd one. He has done total justice to the character and given the best.

I am not a great reviewer of movie in terms of technical and other aspects; but the photography is brilliant. Rajiv Menon has given each scene a different touch, my favs being the court room , the turkey shots and the rain song. The settings the background everything seems to fall exactly in tune with each scene. But the scenes in the court room was little taxing for the eyes.

Other than the business man story, on the background there are two beautiful love stories. One excellent playful bedroom scene, lots of husband/wife naughtiness, lots of oneliner and situational humour thrown in. Lots of complex scenes has dealt with simplicity and great attention. There is a huge passage of time that is shown in movie and revolving around one man. only flaw if it needs to be said, yes it needs to be said! "The celebration for the Children’s birth" was total waste for the flow of the movie. Barring that the movie was in a smooth flow. Its speed breaker or a mood spoiler since the song also was not good!!!what ever its a must watchKudos to Mani Ratnam and his team !!
