Mani Ratnam....the name itself is enough to pull you to the theatres....Roja, Bombay, Dil se, Yuva and now Guru. This fabulous films are the feathers of his hat in Bollywood...While dont ask about Tamil films...each one is a Blockbuster!!!One of the finest filmmakers we have...
He now brings us a man who is firm-headed and strong, has no 2 opinions and he doesnt under stand the word "No"!! We saw him real in the face of Dhirubhai Ambani...and now we see him in form of Gurukant "Guru" Desai on silver screen!!
Yes, the films showcases the life of this one super-successful man..who has had a life which has been full of TwistsnTurns!! The Story of the film as well as Screenpaly are tight...which make the film an all new experience to watch. Directorial- This is Mani Ratnams finest work till date...He has handled the subject with the maturity and sensibility it neede....It does not seem as if your watching a film...but as if your watchin a Slide-show of a great man and his life...you feel as if it is really happening....and that is where the film scores!!
It would be very bad without mentioning that the Dialogues(VIjay Krishna Acharya-Victor) are the highpoint of the film..each dialogue..delivered by any character...remains in your mind...and the ones delievered by Abhishek bachchan are really fantastic...
Music(A.R.Rehman) is good..."Tere bina", "Mayya mayya" and "Barso re" are good numbers.. This role was literally made for Abhishek Bachchan ...no any opinions on that....He really deserves all the awards next year...he rocks as Gurukant Desai...No one...I repeat No one could have done this role except him..
Aishwarya Rai is first-rate...she plays the wifes role with aplomb...
Madhawan is Excellent..he potrays his character like a perfect actor!! Vidya Balan is good too...Mithun Chakraborty.is splendid. At the end, Guru is one of the finest films to come out of bollywood!!
