Guru Dutt was born on July 9, 1925, in Bangalore. His father was Headmaster in school, who later became a bank Clerk and his mother was a housewife who later became a teacher in school. In his childhood, his name was Vasantkumar Shivshankar Padukone, who later changed him to Guru Dutt.
