Another Masterpiece

Was awaiting this album for a pretty long time. Having known in the media as a story of Ambani I thought that may be the background music would have got significance. But I was amazed by the quality of the songs.

Let me talk about the most brilliant song in the album first. The “Jaage Hain” song is actually mesmerizing. How can a song have such a structure ? I have not heard any song with a complex structure and still brilliant. The song and the lyrics actually hit your brain. Its really out of the world. In the song Chitra sings it with such clarity, then rahman comes and build up the tempo and then the choral group takes over. This is classic material. Listening to the song closely would have some strange feelings in you. I am actually in a state of “No Mind” listening to it. Trust me it is extraordinarily brilliant. Would have taken some real “Eureka” feeling to compose the song. Is it a song which is supposed to awaken or enlighten ? I don’t know. Some times I feel like it has the classic Guru Dutt touch.(Music of some classic guru dutt movie)

The other song which is brilliant in this album is the “Tere Bina”. This is dedicated to Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan Saab and Nusrat Saab would have been proud of this composition. It has the feeling of the songs composed by Nusrat Saab and Michael Brooks in the album “Night Song”. The only problem in the song is Rahman still needs to work on his hindi delivery. The structure of the song is brilliant and you would get a sufi and gujarati folk feel to the song. Brilliantly conceptualized

Overall the music has been made with Gujarat in mind and the music has rich shades of gujarati folk music to it. Even the lyrics are a mix of Hindi and Gujarati. Would do well with the classes and masses. Would write more on the album in comments later. Enjoy the album.
