This place should be a first choice for those looking for a budget stay at Goa. Located just
a few minutes away from Baga Beach, bang opposite the Cafe Coffee Day, this cottage-styled
hotel is maintained by the ever-so-warm Mr. and Mrs. Lobo. The bathroom is simple and
pleasant, not dirty and clean. The room alloted to us(Room No. 18) was large and spacious,
the A.C worked fine(made no noise at all) and they werent any power cuts. We only had a 10
minute power cut on our first day of stay, not after that. The bedsheets were neat and
clean, except for one bedsheet which had a few light brownish stains.
The only problem is I felt is that the room service was not at par with the overall stay
package provided to us. We stayed on for 2 days without a change in bedsheets and it was
only then we realized that you have to call for a room clean up. Its not an impromptu
service but youd rather have to tell them if you wanted your bedsheets cleaned every
morning and your room swept.
Two wheelers ranging from the monstrous Royal Enfields(Rs. 500/day) to sporty Karizmas(Rs.
300/day) to the most-popular Honda Activas(Rs. 200/day) are rent out just outside the hotel.
Travel in Goa is very costly with ambitious local cabbies who charge exhorbitantly. So id
reccomend that u rent a bike. Cars are also available and will be rent out for anywhere
between Rs.900 to Rs.1200 per day.
The best part of Haciendas location is that its 2 mins away from Baga so its easy to enjoy
the nightlife. The popular niteclubs Titos, Mambos and a little further away Britos is a
favourite among tourists.
We didnt try the food at the hotel as we had planned to eat out at different places. There
are many places down the road to try good food.
Cafe Coffee Day and Barista for coffee.a little ahead of Barista(on the Baga-Calangute
road) there is Subways for salad, subs and sandwiches. Move forward and there is the stylish
Casa Goa that serves some good breakfast items, luch and dinner. Id recommend that if you
are staying near Baga or Calangute Beach then you have to try this place called
Infantarias. Its a bakery store cum restaurant that serves sumptous breakfast meals, lunch
and dinner. A special mention of the ommlettes, Infantaria Special Coffee shake, French
Toasts, pancakes and try all the bakery items if your money permits you too. You might find
the service here to slow, but bear with it coz thats because of the tremendous number of
orders the waiters are drowning in. Further away towards Calangute Beach there is diner
called Capricorns. This place is good for dinner although they serve breakfast too. And for
a true Indian Experience try Delhi Chat thats right on Calangute Beach.
