Haier is of German Origin, now manufactured/assembled in India. I purchased Haier DVD player MODEL No.: HD-102 for Rs. 2990/-(Ex Mumbai showroom) + steam Iron free (Higher make & not Haier) with the player by dealer. Warranty of the product is for 12 months. Reason I choose this brand was the sole player comparing other available today having potential to play vide variety of formats in 12cm & 8cm discs. It supports DIV-X, MPEG-4, DVD, JPEG still images, HDCD, SVCD, OKO, MP3, CD Rom…… So no need to worry buying player in future. It’s Silver & Black in colour measuring 43cm in length, 26cm in depth and 5cm in thickness (measuring from top to bottom stands-side view). Amazingly just 3.2cm thick (front view) front panel which is sleek hiding the transparent dark black CD tray which I found to be thin and delicate. The panel housed Blue LED lights just bellow CD tray symmetrically placed at the corners making player funkier in dark and smart compact VFD displaying information about CD’s format, track/length... The player is 5.1 channel and without inbuilt amplifier/video games. The good features in MENU setup and bundled items with the box were connecting cable, Remote control which has symmetrically well placed smart shortcut keys, and USER MANNUL which not had detailed explanations. I tested with 12cm & 8cm Scratch Video-CD and both played fine, player found to be silent enough since it did not have exhaust Fan at back or sides, CD-Tray mechanicals were also quite enough . The only Downside of this Haier player was that it did not played QUICK TIME video format which my NIKONS-5600 digital camera records, also the body build up quality is average, I will Rate this player 4 points from 5…. I suggest readers to Go ahead with this brand player.
