NEVER BUY A HAIER PRODUCT


I had bought a Double Door Haier Fridge which stopped working (no cooling) on 15.06.2024 while I was travelling and my family was at home. I lodged service request no: GU20240617000565 on 17.06.2024.


An engineer visited and checked the fridge on 19.06.2024 and informed us that there is gas related issue and would be resolved by 20th and gave an estimate of Rs.2500. We agreed and requested to get it done ASAP as it is very hard to manage without a fridge in this weather for a family with small children. No one turned up after 19th.


We kept on calling the customer care and one Mr. Sunil on 895461xxxx. Mr. Sunil never answered our calls and customer care kept escalating my request to higher levels. We were at the verge of buying a new fridge on Saturday (22nd) when we recieved a call from an engineer. He visited and again checked our fridge. This time, to our surprise, he listed some more problems with the fridge and said it would cost us Rs. 6000 to Rs.7000 for the repairs. Having no other option, we asked him to repair it, but he said he would come the next day with requires spares. He never came back...


While I was on my daily followup call with Haier customer care, I was told that my service request was closed on 26.06.2024. I told them that the fridge is still not working, and again begged them to repair it. Another service request no: GU20240626000098 was raised on 26.06.2024. I was promised by the customer care lady that I will recieve a call on same day from the engineer and fridge would be repaired within 1 to 2 days. This again turned out to be a false promise as I recieved no such call and no one visited.


Sadly, we are yet to know the exact problem with our fridge and remain stuggling with spoilt milk and vegetables on a daily basis. We have been using other electrical appliances like ACs and washing machines of other Brands like LG, Samsung and Hitachi, for years. Never have I seen such sorry state of affairs and complete disregard, where customer care keeps on escalating the request to higher authorities, who are unable to arrange an engineer visit even after a lapse of 16 days. This shows the level of customer service and after sales that you get from Haier. I am compelled to say at this stage that a local brand would fair much better than Haier.


I am sure every employee at Haier, from top to bottom, has a fridge at home. I challenge them, especially one who has small children at home, to manage without a fridge for just 2 days. IT HAS BEEN 18 DAYS SINCE MY FRIDGE STOPPED WORKING, AND 16 DAYS SINCE I LODGE A REPAIR REQUEST.


I urge each and every citizen of India to stop buying Haier products and go for brands which value their customer and give after sales service.
