A good story made bad, made good by the acting

Halla Bol is the story of a small town boy called Ashfaque who dreams of making it big in Big Bad Mumbai. Ashfaque, played by Ajay Devgan, lands up in his first movie after telling a lie. This inspite of him saying that he cannot tolerate telling lies. He even changes his name to Sameer Khan to play it big in Bollywood. An actor who doesnt think twice before selling numerous products, suddenly becomes witness to a murder in a disco. Faced with the dilemna of either standing by the truth or saving his fame, Sameer Khan decides to tell the truth. Suddenly all hell breaks loose!!

Sameer is supported in his endaveour by Sidhu (Pankaj Kapoor) and his wife Neha (Vidya Balan). A predictable storyline filled with cliched sequences makes this movie a very timepass kind of stuff.

The performances by the various actors are above average.  The first half of the movie is set up nicely leading upto a lot of expectations from the second half. But that is where the movie fails to deliver.

All in all a movie one should see if there is nothing to watch
