The performances in Hancock are brilliant, Will Smith is undoubtedly a brilliant actor, but what possessed him to be in this clap trap? The story is week, and the plot goes in the most strangest directions imaginable. Dont think you know where the plot will go next because its shotty, sloppy story telling here.
As for the cinematography, you can see the Director of Photography wanted to make it look somewhat like a news report with lots of focus changing and quick zooms. But unfortunately, this is over used too much and by the end just feels awkward and out of place. However not everything in this film is bad, the special effects are just lovely and the humour is quite pleasing. Unfortunately, its still not enough to make up for the poor story.
Hancock could have been great, instead with a cheap and nasty story, and well over cooked cinematography the film is everything you dont want it to be.
