May His Soul Rest In Peace !!!

*An everyday news *

A 16-year-old girl commits suicide after unable to clear her exams.

A 40-year-old businessman finishes himself, after his shares got thumped in the stock market.

A cricket lover dies of heart attack after not being able to digest India?s loss.

A 30-year-old housewife hangs herself dead as her husband didn?t allow her to work and she felt her talent was being wasted.

*May 2000 *

My grandmother?s friend?s son(about 25-30 years) committed suicide by hanging himself on an iron ceiling with a bed sheet. He wanted to get married but his mom didn?t allow him to do so as sometimes he became very violent(a mental disorder). But otherwise 90% of the times he was as normal as one can get. But for the sake of those 10% times when he wasn?t normal he wasn?t allowed to get married even after his many pleadings. Thus, he was deprived of a natural desire called? sex(which is as essential as hunger, thirst and sleep) and in that depression he took such step.

My mom tried to kill herself by having sleeping pills after a minute argument with me. It wasn?t just the argument, which forced her to take such a step. It was the depression she was carrying in herself for countless days. Depression of work, house and loneliness(my father was mostly away for some work). Thankfully we were able to rush her to the hospital in time and thus, she was saved!

Mtv Vj Nafisa Joseph ended her life after being betrayed by her boyfriend for the third time! What could have been a very good life and a career, which such a talented person like her deserved, ended in such a deplorable manner! So many of her fans were heart broken and her family was in ruins! **(To know more, read my review about her) *

Army officers are usually considered tough beings with no feelings! What a myth! My uncle(father?s real and only brother) collapsed this Monday morning due to a heart attack, after facing a torturous amount of depression for the last year and a half! He served in army as a major. Family problems and bankruptcy really had a toll on his psyche! He always loved challenges in his life and was ready to face this one too! He once guided my attention on the slogan of Royal Challenge whisky, * What?s life without a Royal Challenge? *(I hope you understand the pun of this slogan). He wasn?t very old(in the mid fifties), nor were there any health problems but it was this **depression** which has taken away from me a human being who always encouraged me in whatever I did and most importantly who never hesitated in giving me his precious 4-5 hours whenever I needed to talk to someone about something & nobody was there(which usually was the case)! I thank him from the bottom of my heart. **MAY HIS SOUL REST IN PEACE! *

*How not to deal with depression *

I thought it wouldn?t be a bad idea to mention first the things, which shouldn?t be done to deal with depression!

Drinking alcohol in excessive amounts.

Smoking.

Trying to end your life. You may get freedom from your depression through this, but why do you want all those who will be left behind you to suffer so much! This really is a very **selfish** way to deal with depression!

*How to deal with depression *

I?m no expert at this, but still I?m trying my best to point out a few things to you.

Try to know the exact reason of your depression. If you don?t know what?s causing it, it can?t be cured! And once you get to know what the reason is, keep your cool(which isn?t going to be easy, but you have to do it, no other options) and step-wise try to eradicate the very cause of that melancholy!

If the reason can?t be eradicated even though you have given it your best shot then try to deviate your mind to something else(which again isn?t going to be easy, but yet again you don?t have any other option).

Avoid high intakes of Tea or Coffee and include lots of green vegetables and fruit juices in your diet.

A recent scientific research in America suggested that having sex is a good way to deal with depression. It releases some hormones, which enlighten our mind and help us to deal with stress!

Don?t keep anything in your heart! Talk to someone close to you about whatever you are feeling. Initially you may find it difficult but after speaking your heart out you will feel a lot lighter!

To conclude I?d like to quote a self-written poem, which may help you to deal with trouble(read depression).

*When You Are In Trouble *

The whole world seems to be against you,

When you are in trouble.

Nothing goes right for you,

When you are in trouble.

You feel like crying your head out,

When you are in trouble.

You just don?t know what to do,

When you are in trouble.

Keep your cool,

When you are in trouble.

Don?t loose hope,

When you are in trouble.

Fight it out,

When you are in trouble.

Just kill the trouble,

When you are in trouble.

After all, it?s just a trouble!
