Fighting away the blues

"Depression" the big D word. Each one of us has to go through it.  Being depressed is like spending the whole day in bed and still not getting a good nights rest. Their my be several reasons for being depressed which we may know or some which we might not be knowing.


"That’s the thing about depression: A human being can survive


almost anything, as long as she sees the end in sight. But depression


is so insidious, and it compounds daily, that it’s impossible


to ever see the end. The fog is like a cage without a key."



The above quote is very relevant, when


one is depressed, he or she  constantly has self-defeating and self


devaluing  thoughts.  It effects our personal and social life significantly and we just can not let it take over our lives. We have to fight it out. Fight away the blues.Find the key which opens the cage.


Here are some of the ways and very practical tips to handle depression. I know its easier said then done but I try to do


few or all of the following steps.


Make yourself very busy. If u r busy .you wont have


time to think abt ur problems. You might have to force urself to do it


as both mind and body will oppose it. I just get up and go outside for


a walk or so. It would make u feel better.


Listen to good music .the upbeat kind. Music can give u that high which is needed to fight the lows given by depression. It works for me.


Have a good cup of coffee.with some cheerful people who can make u laugh.


If no one is around .just phone a close friend and talk about anything, , , trivia, etc.


Do nice things to people by helping them.any small thing.


Think


about the good times. that made u happy,  when u made


your family happy, your achievements. (This one works for me).


Think about the good things u have.family, kids, parents,


friends.and how much they love you and how important you are for them.


(Thumbs up to this one too).Think about the fact that u have


purpose in life.


Get involved in some sports. Go to a gym .work out.its the ultimate stress buster( It might be more helpful in case of boys.and works for me all the time.)


Force yourself and go watch a good movie with a positive ending.Eat chocolates.it helps.(Dont worry about calories right now.:)


You can probably find a hell lot of tips and pages written on tips to fight depression. But these tips are very common and practical and THEY WORK.. So give it a shot.and **SMILE.:)



*Be positive.Every single thing


happened to’LIFE’ is always beautiful, and wonderful.It reflects the


reason why we were this way today.Never regret for fate and live life


to the fullest.
