Obsessive Compulsion Disorder

I just love these three words. Its OCD or Obessive Compulsion Disorder. The ability of the brain to compel the human body to do what it wants to before letting you free.  I remember my friend having this funny problem. He would come out of the bed room into the hall, and just as he reaches the open door he would do a 360 clockwise turn and then step into the hall. And he would do a 360 anticlockwise turn when heading from hall to bed room.

Yes! It is a dangerous disease. Frankly many people have it. Knowingly or unknowingly we tend to have our brain as the cranky master to OCD. A classic case is when you write your examinations. Before you attend, you are forced to pray or do something good. Your brain tells you. "If you dont do it. you might fail." and your body forcibly obliges.

Most stress and depression come because of OCD. Fear, pessimism, hatred and other negative factors lead the brain to compulsion and alter its mode of behavior. Frankly its your fault. What you see, feel and hear are inputs to your brain. And the brain keep altering its pattern due to self learning, trying to become more mature and ripe. And everything depends on how you input stuff to your brain. You just need to be careful and methodical in how you deal with everything around you. Its simple but it takes time.

The following are cases of mild OCD or severe OCD that I have come across in most common people.

1) My friend who kept turning round and round

2) My friend who had to keep his desk clean at any cost.

3) Being restless wanting to know whom your girlfriend or boyfriend called or mailed to

4) Fear of embarrassment - Eating with a fork and knife and sweating when you know you are comfortable with your hand.

5) Being compelled to bite your nails or use a nail cutter coz you dont like nails.

6) Talking and reacting to yourself - This is a case of severe OCD

And lots.

But the good news is. it is curable. All you have to do is let the brain see, feel and experience new things. This way it keeps altering its pattern even more and eventually try and suppress its OCD behaviors. However it can get back anytime. In such a case all you have to do is bypass it with some other action.

For most people this review would sound strange, meaningless and utter sh*t. I know that coz I feel like that now. But there are some things so complicated in life that you need to feel it. I spend a lot of time reading the face of people around me. It did look funny and humorous to watch my friend go round and round between rooms. but it took me sometime to realize how complicated the matter was until I watched a serial on OCD while in UK. You could type in OCD on Wiki to know more.

Happy living.
