In the medical profession, its unbelievable the amount of effect that stress causes. Ive seen patients with diseases attributable simply to the stress they are under - jobs, family, career, relationships. Ive also found that just curing the disease aint enough. Ive had many patients carrying the disease in their hearts long after it has been cured.
I handle a lot of children in my profession and have been surprised at the number of children with depression/hatred/insecurity. This is mostly due to school pressure, over-concerned parents, peer pressure.

Now when I say prayer, I dont just mean mumbling a few words under your breath as the sweat drips down your forehead! I believe my prayer life stems from a deep faith in Jesus and When I say prayer it means for me to share a relationship with Him. Prayer should come from the heart.not just empty words that mean nothing!
I pray whenever I expect a tough situation. I believe that prayer is not a last option.its the first!
And when unexpected situations strike me, prayer is a source of strength and comfort!
In todays world people think of scientific, easy ways out of situations and prayer seems old-fashioned. Lemme assure you that God is eternal and Prayer will work forever!
Another thing that is of great use is to know that someone is praying for me. Exams, interviews, grief. all of them are less stressful when you know your parents/ friends are supporting you in prayer. It really uplifts me when someone comes upto me and saysBenji, Im praying for you!.
Prayer is what Id recommend to you if you are under stress. And while youre at it, help relieve someone elses stress and pray for them!
To wind up, I must mention that I have opted to mention just one way to beat stress which I have found very useful!
