Someone asked Ramana Maharishi what the purpose of life is and he replied that The Purpose of life is to be happy always. One hundred words is very short to go into what happiness means. However there are 2 things that consume us.
The first is worry about what tommorow may be and the second is carrying the baggage of yesterday and making it the basis of tommorow. Both of these things cause stress. You have no control about tommorow. In that realization if you let go of tommorow and not worry about what you did or what happened to you yesterday, you have eliminated everything that causes stress. The word meditation means the ending of thought(which is the projection of yesterday to tommorow) and hence it is being in the present moment. If you can focus on NOW and enjoy and relish what you are doing u have eliminated Stress.
