Handling Stress

Greenery does wonders !

Lot of said on stress, so here I won’t repeat all those routine things how stress comes in and how to deal with it through medical treatment or exercises etc. So, I wish to put it in different manner and it is too a different way to handle stress in my opinion.


After a long time, I thought to draw a picture and naturally Nature was given preference for subject. When we talk about’Nature’, it may be shown in picture with 1) water i.e. river, sea, waterfalls, 2) with trees i.e.Road through mysterious rows of trees opposite each other like in hill stations or few beautiful trees, flowers, greenery around home, 3) Sky with beauty of Sun or Moon.


This time I preferred greenery as topic of my picture. Actually, I want to draw on my home wall(of course East side in Hall as it’s supposed to be direction of greenery) but I don’t know how it would look, as I want it to come out excellent piece of art. Let us first see what importance greenery has in our life then I will go to draw a picture.


Greenery has definitely great positive effects seen on health. Everybody is aware that green trees offer is good amount of oxygen in the early mornings. Fresh breath is rare phenomenon these days. Whenever we step out for any activity, we have to face dust, pollution, traffic etc. which in turn add to our stress. As it is everybody must be feeling more or less stressed with mostly monotonous nature of job or other factors affecting job activities.


This stress is must to be reduced and you know, greenery plays a important role in reducing stress. Keeping green lawns and/or plants indoor and outdoor at office campus works magically. At homes too keeping fresh flowers, green hangings, garden around home or in case of shortage of space, even garden in balcony gives nice healing effects.


It is particularly preferable to have green gardens for big factories/Cos., hospitals, health care centres for working ppl., patients, their care-takers, family members for giving them green surroundings to allow them to get fresh air. It will certainly be useful to reduce their stress to a great extent. Greenery has wonderful effects seen on patients who need healing effects, so apart from medical treatments, if there are lawns, beautiful green plants, flowers in hospitals it will prove supporting factor to treatment. It will lesson the duration of treatments and even quantity doses.


Due to shortage of space in apartment, I have developed small garden in my balcony with some two variety of roses, cactus, China grass(In marathi Gawati tea), two three Tulsi plants, Oowa, Sadafuli, decorative leaves plants in earthen pots. Watering plants is really enjoyable thing. Those having garden flat or bunglow can develope systematic gardening.


Mother earth has given us beautiful environment and it is our duty to make best use out of it to reduce our stress factor without destroying Nature of which we are part. Ok friends, let me try my hand on drawing picture and I don’t mind you continue with RRCing. I will be back after drawing to reply your comments.
